The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding Full Series Review

I would say it's a pleasure to meet thee, Prosperity Oceanus Redding, but truly, I only anticipate the delights of destroying thy happiness.
Prosper is the only unexceptional Redding in his old and storied family history — that is, until he discovers the demon living inside him. Turns out Prosper's great-great-great-great-great-something grandfather made — and then broke — a contract with a malefactor, a demon who exchanges fortune for eternal servitude. And, weirdly enough, four-thousand-year-old Alastor isn't exactly the forgiving type.
The fiend has reawakened with one purpose — to destroy the family whose success he ensured and who then betrayed him. With only days to break the curse and banish Alastor back to the demon realm, Prosper is playing unwilling host to the fiend, who delights in tormenting him with nasty insults and constant attempts trick him into a contract. Yeah, Prosper will take his future without a side of eternal servitude, thanks.

Little does Prosper know, the malefactor's control over his body grows stronger with each passing night, and there's a lot Alastor isn't telling his dim-witted (but admittedly strong-willed) human host

This series was so fun to read and I loved every minute of the relationship between Prosper and Alastor. I didn’t quite like some aspects of the book but was able to keep reading because of Prosper and Alastor. The two-part series was fun, exciting, and mysterious and I loved reading to find out what happens next. As the books went on, I found myself liking Alastor more and more and trusting him by the end of the series. I was also intrigued by Alastor’s relationship with Honor Redding and what happened long back ago. I do wish that we got some backstory in the first book instead of all of it being revealed in the second. However, my heart truly broke for Alastor during those scenes and how he lost any faith in humanity after he saw how Honor changed over time. I didn’t quite get the storyline in the second book about the elves and the Ancients and I really didn’t care much about them. I do wish that we got more story on the V thing in the Downworld and what it was/where it came from instead. I would have also liked to see flashbacks to Alastor’s childhood in the fiend realm and what he was like during a child.

But all in all, I did like this two-part series and I am sad to have finished my journey into this world and it’s characters.
