As this is a new month of the year, there are a couple of cool releases planned. Some of these books are highly anticipated and are written by old favorites and new arrivals. Interestingly enough, many of the books listed were published on the same day (March 5th) so that was remarkable.

1.     Deathcaster by Cinda Williams Chima (Book #4)

Deathcaster is the last book in The Shattered Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima. I have always liked CWC’s work in the past but I haven’t yet picked up her latest series. Set in the same series as the Seven Realms series, this series is set in the future with new characters. I liked the Seven Realms series but I haven’t yet finished the last book due to a set of circumstances. As it has been forever since I started that book, I should probably start over from the beginning on that book. Until I do so and finally finish that book, I am unable to pick up the Shattered Realms series. But of course, this last book will be good as CWC never disappoints in her world-building and character growth.

2.     Once and Future by Amy Rose Capetta

This book is a re-imagining of King Arthur set in the far future. I am super excited to read this book as I have always loved the King Arthur mythology. At first, I was interested in this book only because of the cover but the plot is interesting as well. I am hoping to read it soon and I hope that it is well written and the characters are likable enough. If the book is up to par, I am excited to see where the series goes in the future!

3.     Everlasting Rose by Dhionelle Clayton (Book #2)

I had seen a lot of people read the Belles last year and it seemed like that the general idea of the book was good though people was conflicted on whether the book was able to finish through with the core aspect. There is a core of diverse characters and an intriguing setting to this series that people were excited about. While I might or might not read it in the future, the book is worth looking into and analyzing for yourself.

4.     The Queen’s Resistance by Rebecca Ross (Book #2)

I do not know much about this series but I hope to read it soon. I didn’t read the first book The Queen’s Rising yet but I saw that it was a high fantasy book released last year with good reviews. For me, I was intrigued by The Queen’s Rising as its premise looked a lot like The Giver but set in a fantasy setting and the tone was a lot darker. I hope to get to these two books in the future. I also saw that this is a trilogy so I am looking forward to see if the plot carries over to all three books.

5.     The Shadow Glass by Rin Chupeco (Book #3)

This is the last and final book in The Bone Witch trilogy that I had initially also been attracted to because of the cover. Though it looks like the first book wasn’t that well received, the series seems to have gotten better over the years. The concept reminded me of The Abhorson series with the main character who is a necromancer. So, if you like the concept of death and magical worlds, you should read this series and comment on this post on how you feel about it.

6.     A Question for Holmes by Brittany Cavallaro (Book #4)

This book is something that I am looking forward to but also am wary about. This is book four in the Charlotte Holmes series which I liked in the beginning. However, I was disappointed in the third book in the series and had actually thought of not reading the series anymore. But after this book was released, I saw that many reviews had come in of people liking this book and how it was like book one (which was the best one in my opinion). So, I think that I might pick this book up in the future and give this series a second chance to wow me.

7.     Opposite of Always by Justin Reynolds

I haven’t read much of this book and what it consists of. All I know is that it is a contemporary book with romance and a twist in the plot. I think that this book will be highly polarizing as it depends on if the execution of the twist is done correctly or not. But otherwise, I have a lot of questions on this book and its premise. Check it out if you want some variety on a romance and be prepared for twists and turns galore.

8.     Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte

This book is one that I am excited to read as well. As it is a standalone, there is less pressure on it unlike the books in this that are part of a series. It is also a debut by the author Astrid Scholte so I am excited to see what she does with this book. The book itself seems to have aspects of mystery and intrigue and a main female character who is a thief that is smart and badass. I am also looking forward to great world-building about the four kingdoms and the four queens mentioned.
